The Cold Foamers were an alternative/slacker rock band from Philadelphia that emerged in 2014, rooted in the mid-2010s college indie rock scene. The most consistent members were Asher Dark, Cameron Kennon (releases under Rocky Beau), Scotty Leitch (releases under Shelf Life), and Colin Pezzano, with Asher and Cameron handling the majority of the songwriting.
Their debut album, All Cold Everything, was released on February 8, 2014. The record spans 14 tracks, including two interludes, and established the band’s laid-back yet emotionally driven sound.
Supporting contributors on the album included Alex Giannascoli (Alex G), Jason Lear, Dexter Loos, and Erin Porter. Alex G appeared as a performer on the 4th track, “Always,” and the 9th track, “Rebecca,” and also produced most of the album.
The remaining contributors primarily assisted with live performances and filling instrumental gaps. The album was mastered at Dead Air Studios and pressed on LP through Slugsalt Records.
TracklistFollowing the release of All Cold Everything, the band spent roughly two years playing shows and working on new material. On February 16, 2016, they released a 5-track EP titled Musketball. Bandcamp credits for the EP are sparse, but a Cold Foamers mini-documentary on Vimeo confirms the return of Colin Pezzano, Asher Dark, and Cameron Kennon.
Scotty Leitch took on most of the production duties for Musketball, marking a shift away from Alex G’s involvement. Musketball became the final official release under the Cold Foamers name.
The band reportedly broke up three separate times, with the final split being permanent.

Although their official discography is limited to two releases, Cold Foamers members were involved in numerous side projects and unreleased recordings. The only other track released under the Cold Foamers name is a cover of “Some Kind of Hate” by the Misfits, uploaded to Scotty Leitch’s SoundCloud.
In 2017, the band released a single titled “Freak Frog” under the name Stage Frog. The song is intentionally chaotic and comedic, though it still features moments of strong melody.
More serious related projects include Emily Doom, Washy, and Larry.
Larry predates Cold Foamers and represents an early version of their sound. The project released a 3-track EP titled People Places Forever one year before All Cold Everything. The record featured Asher Dark and Dexter Loos, alongside Elliot Bech, Taylor Waterman, and Shane Olsen.
According to their bandcamp, Emily Doom consists of…
“Cameron Kennon aka Lil Spotlight - Vox that get you flustered, sometimes on guitar ( a little rhythm but mostly zippy riffs), melody creations, good lyrics. Over all, a god's honest mystery; pure and rugged fierce grace.
Scotty Leitch aka Total Dog - Ok, this guy made it all possible. He's got the chords, those crucial chord progreshers, melody creations, cool drums, fatty bass works to rumble in your guts, and he also does vox! He's strict but fair. A great man. (He also did "Livin' The Dream" all by himself)
Tommy Fala from South Jerz: Responsible for every single soul-dunked and funk'n'roll keyboard riff concocted on the record! He will make you look so bad in front of your girlfriend
Total Dog's Awesome Bitch: vox”
Emily Doom was a project made by Cameron Kennon, Scotty Leitch, and Tommy Fala. Cameron Kennon was the frontman of cold foamers and Scotty was a temporary bassist and producer. Scotty is also known for his work drumming with Alex G and his solo project Shelf Life.
Later in 2016, Asher Dark and Cameron Kennon, along with friend Tommy Fala, released another 3-track EP. Cameron handled vocals, with Scotty Leitch contributing vocals on select tracks, making the project feel closely tied to the Cold Foamers’ sound.
Washy, formed by Colin Pezzano and two friends, released a 3-track EP in 2018. While it doesn’t feature other Cold Foamers members, the music strongly resembles the band’s style—likely due to Colin’s influence. Notably, Colin’s song on All Cold Everything originated from a track he had previously written and uploaded to his SoundCloud.
